To receive your registration card under your employer license, prepare to send an application and two copies of your fingerprints to the state. While you do not need to have a permit to work as a security guard in New Jersey, your employer must legally register you in the state to work legally in this area. While this record does not require prior training or experience, you must provide your current contact / address information, previous employers over the past five years, and a fingerprint background check.

Once your application has been approved by the state, you must follow a specialized security training program accredited by the state of New Jersey. Training is mandatory and you can only work with a security company once you have completed this training. The training program is currently 24 hours a day and covers all the topics necessary to perform the tasks you require effectively. To work as an unarmed security guard in Washington, you must have a valid license issued by the Washington State Licensing Department. To be eligible for such a license, you must successfully complete the assignment training requirements and pass all written exams. By approving the training program, you can only submit your license application if you are employed or employed by a recognized security company.

Like many other states, there are no state-level certification or licensing requirements for unarmed guards. Although you must complete a total of 4 hours of training from the security guard, your employer will give you this training and must be performed by a SLED certified instructor. Only after completing this employer-sponsored training program can the security company submit a license application to the state. To work as an unarmed security guard in Oregon, you must have a valid security license. To be eligible for the license, you must complete at least 12 hours of classroom training through a state-approved institution or instructor. Always consult the state to determine if the program is accredited before paying.
