To ensure that the block chain runs smoothly and can process and verify transactions, the Bitcoin network wants to produce a block every 10 minutes. However, if 1 million mining platforms compete to solve the hash problem, they are likely to come up with a faster solution than a scenario where 10 mining platforms are working on the same problem. For that reason, Bitcoin is designed to assess and adjust the difficulty of removing every 2,016 blocks or about every two weeks. Most crypto mining applications come with a mining group; however, crypto enthusiasts now also come together online to create their own mining groups. An ASIC can have 100,000 times more computing power than a standard desktop computer equipped with some graphics cards. Whether a potential miner chooses a CPU, GPU, ASIC mining builder or cloud extraction, the main factors to consider are the mining platform’s hash speed, electricity consumption and overhead costs.
